The VBQS 2026 - ENTRIES OPEN NOW!!

What is The Virtual British Quail Show?
The VBQS is the UK's only virtual competition held exclusively for quail enthusiasts, allowing all UK residents to showcase their birds regardless of location. It serves as a non-profit platform for quail keepers to showcase their birds, as quail are typically not recognised in traditional agricultural shows.

Why should you join the VBQS?
~ Free Competition: The show is free to enter - thanks to the kindness of our sponsors!
~ Diverse Categories: We have classes covering all species of quail - Coturnix, Chinese Painted & all New World species, as well as fun classes and a dedicated Youth category for those aged 16 and under.
~ Expert Panel: Each entry is reviewed by judges with years of collective experience in breeding. (Whilst there are currently no official standards regarding quail, our judges rely on their skills and experience of breeding quail to fairly judge each submission - offering expert feedback).
~ Learn and Improve: Our key goal is to provide a dedicated platform to help participants learn and improve. We also place major focus on encouraging the next generation of keepers, aiming to make the "show world" less intimidating and more rewarding.
~ Accessibility: Since we are 100% virtual, anyone with a camera and quail can participate without having to travel to a physical venue.
~ Prizes and Recognition: Despite being a virtual show, The VBQS recognises excellence through a progressive winning structure to identify the best species of quail in the UK. To recognise the excellence of exhibitors and their birds, we provide physical rewards ranging from prize cards & ribbons to glass awards & rosettes - with sponsors offering additional prizes.
